Long Beach, CA (9/20/23) – Westar Associates is proud to announce its latest venture – the redevelopment of a prime commercial space formerly occupied by CVS into four modern and vibrant retail spaces.

The redevelopment project aims to breathe new life into Bixby Village Plaza, redesigning the space into a dynamic retail and restaurant destination. The former CVS building at the corner of 7th Street and Bellflower Boulevard will be demolished and a new, smaller building will be constructed in its place, providing four distinct shop spaces ideally suitable for food, retail, or medical purposes.

Urbane Cafe will be joining the shopping center creating delicious, nutritious, affordable meal options with farm-fresh ingredients, award-winning recipes and an unwavering commitment to quality and craft.

Joining Urbane Cafe is California Fish Grill, a beloved name in seafood dining. Renowned for its commitment to serving sustainably sourced seafood with a Californian twist, California Fish Grill will provide a casual yet delectable seafood experience to food enthusiasts in the area.

“We are excited to kick off this redevelopment project,” said Jud Dutrisac, Chief Operating Officer for Westar Associates. “By eliminating a large, unattractive building that’s functionally obsolete, we’re able to provide smaller shop spaces that more appropriately serve the Long Beach community.”

The project is poised to deliver not only a modernized space but also a new sense of vibrancy to the neighborhood. The thoughtful design and curation of tenants fit seamlessly within the long-standing successful Bixby Village Plaza.

Demolition of the existing building is set to occur before year end with construction following in 2024.
