WESTAR ASSOCIATES

Goleta, California (January 21, 2020) – Westar Associates has broken ground on a new apartment building representing the final phase of Hollister Village, a mixed-use development located right off the 101 freeway on Hollister Avenue and South Glen Annie Road in Goleta. The project is estimated to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2020.

Construction includes a new two-story building, located on the Eastern side of the property, comprised of 27 apartment units including 13 studios and 14 one-bedrooms ranging between 545 and 685 square feet. The studio units are the first of their kind to be offered in an amenity-rich apartment community in the City of Goleta. Five of the studio units are reserved for income qualified residents.

The new addition to the property is part of Hollister Village, a mixed-use development that opened in 2015 consisting of a resort-style apartment community and a neighborhood shopping center. Hollister Village Apartment Community is currently home to 266 apartments, comprised of one, two, and three bedroom units. The adjacent shopping center, Hollister Village Plaza, along with neighboring centers, allow residents to complete daily errands without having to get into their cars or make elaborate travel plans. Hollister Village Plaza is anchored by Smart & Final Extra! and CVS/pharmacy and includes a wide-variety of national, regional, and local businesses including staples to Santa Barbara County such as Kyle’s Kitchen, Pickles & Swiss and Choppa Poke. Both Hollister Village Apartment Community and Hollister Village Plaza are currently fully leased.

“We are excited to get started on the final development phase of Hollister Village and to bring much needed housing to the community,” says Jud Dutrisac, Chief Operating Officer of Westar Associates. “The addition of the studio apartments allows us to offer more options for renters at different price points.”

Future residents of the new apartments have access to all the outdoor amenities offered at the Hollister Village Apartment Community including a community pool, central fitness center, putting green, bocce ball court, dog spaw, car wash, children’s playground, and open space areas. All apartments feature luxury amenities including granite countertops, stainless appliances, private washers and dryers, and reserved single car parking garages with abundant storage.

The final phase of Hollister Village is entitled, planned, designed, and constructed by local companies based in Goleta and Santa Barbara including Dudek (Entitlement); Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schrek (Land Use Attorney); Coast Engineering & Survey (Civil Engineer); Tom Ochsner Architect (Architect & Design); Towbes Group, Inc.
